Pieces Mended- The Heartbreak Journal

Still feeling pretty inspired by my theme! Here is this weeks hits!
Wasting my young years- London Grammar
I read an interview with the singer of London Grammar and she spoke about writing this song about a childhood boyfriend, that she was wasting her time one. I completely identified with her and whenever listening to this song I relate to the lyrics and that feeling that your just wasting your time on someone.

Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis

This isn't normally the style of music I would go for, but when I heard this song there was something about it I really liked.

Pieces Mended- The Used

One of my favourite ever songs, when I was 16 The Used were my everything and I lived by them. This song has always been special to me, especially the lyric below. I have even wanted it tattooed, not sure what it is about this lyric but it has always been really important to me.

This love with be your downfall- Ellie Goulding

I always liked old skool Ellie Goulding, especially this song. The lyrics are so honest which is something I like in a song.

Ghost- Ella Henderson

That's it for another week of music.

Lots of love

The Blue Edition

It's the last journal! I can't actually believe we're on the last journal, this project has flown by! My last journal was Karen's lovely blue book. I never realised until I embarked on old blue, but I don't actually use blue that much, so I found it tougher than I thought.

I would love to have another go this, I think a green journal is calling my name.

Remember to check out the other lovely Color Chaos ladies:

Thank you so much ladies for letting me be a part of this amazing project!

As you can see lots of patterns in this one!

Your Mangled Heart- The Heartbreak Journal

So here we are again and this season has me super inspired, I keep just churning out the pages. I'm glad I picked the theme of heartbreak as a basis for a good song is based on just that!

King- Years & Years
I love this song, it's so upbeat it's only when you read the lyrics you see that there's a darker side to it.

Your Mangled Heart- The Gossip
I am recently revisiting my love for The Gossip, I don't know how I could have ever forgot about such an amazing band!

The Sound- The 1975
What's an entry from me without putting a The 1975 song in the mix. I love the tongue twister lyrics in this song.

Unfinished Symphony- Massive Attack
This is my response to Karen's tall order of making a page in response the Massive Attack's epic song. I went with a space type theme.

Tonight, Tonight- The Smashing Pumpkins
Again another band I'm revisiting due to also revisiting the 90's classic 'My So Called Life' *Sigh* Jordan Catalano!

Daydreaming- Paramore
The other day some mean boys were making fun of my love for Paramore, but I don't care and would happily admit it to anyone that I love them!!

And that's it for another week.

Lots of love,

Halsey-Ghost
I urge you to go listen to Halsey's album it's amazing!

The Used- Buried Myself Alive

Laura Marling-The Captain and the Hourglass

I decided to have a go at Vanessa's burning tutorial from last week, it was so much fun. The pyromanic in me definitely came out!

Madonna- Justify My Love

Here's a little close up as I managed to strategically burn my page in just the right place.

and here is the next page

Katy Perry- Not like the Movies

And suddenly all the songs were about you- The Heartbreak Journal

We're on to the season of music and I plan on being more involved with this season, I have already been so inspired. My theme for this season is heartbreak, my art journal isn't about being depressing or morbid. This journal for me is about letting go of someone that I should have done a long time ago- to be honest I have held on to them a lot longer than healthy and now it's time to move on.

As you have probably guessed this journal is going to be incredibly personal to me and I hope that by others seeing it and are in the same position have the strength to leave that person behind. I am not used to the journalling side of art journalling so this will be a new experience which is a bit scary, but the hope is that by the end of the season I close up this book with all the feelings and get on with my life.

So if you don't want the slushy part, please feel free to skip to the art!

I decided against making a book for the season, I'm not very good at it! So decided I wanted to try a landscape book.

Lots of love,

Lauren's Lyrics- July Round up

So this month was pretty tough! I started to question, whether I was repeating songs I had already included. It's not that I have run out of songs, but I think there is only a select few you listen to at a time. When I started to dig into ideas, I actually came across so many amazing songs I'd forgotten about that brought back such amazing memories.

Can't actually believe it's the end of July! This year is shooting by.

Lots of love,
