Do Not Read Beauty Magazines, They Will Only Make You Feel Ugly

Hello! So this weeks it was all about my inner inside out characters, which is you know me- know that disgust definitely sits in the driver seat in my brain. After watching that film, I realised I identified with character way too much!

I decided to put my emotions into some different sub cultures almost and added a few extra!

I see the character joy in my brain as some type of pop princess/ Katy Perry creature.

I added love as an emotion and decided that she would be simple and obviously red. Anger in my brain is a punk rock bad ass.

Sadness is an me/grunge kid and fear is the ultimate goth kid

Disgust is a fashionista with a love for all things high fashion and I added creativity and obviously she is a hipster.

This is the lyric I used from the 'Wear sunscreen' song- there is so many good lines in this one but above is the one that stood out to me the most.

The Pink Edition

It's time to revisit color chaos, the ultimate travelling journal experience. We all got very worried as it took a while for Katie's lovely pink journal to get to me. It finally did though and I had so much fun filling some of the pages.

If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I have embarked on a year long lyric project- Katie's book got number 47 which obviously had to be Aerosmith's song 'Pink' as if there was any other to be used!

I just couldn't get the light for this picture- but I couldn't not include this cutting as Grimes looks all inter-galactic.

Take Pleasure in the Rich, Random Patterns in your Life

I have so not kept up with the old Thursday habit!! At least it changed to within the week which is on my side for this season!

So this weeks prompts I went pretty literal and as it spoke of patterns I mostly filled my journal with patterns...even better 80's inspired patterns.

Get ready for some poptastic/ jazzy patterns

The above is my take on graffiti - I really liked this pattern and I must admit I feel I have slightly ruined it when I added the lettering. Never mind you win some you lose some and graffiti isn't supposed be perfect.

This week was a bit of a different step for me as I normally include some type of wording, as you can see on the left I couldn't help myself.

Also just to note, the background is my crochet blanket I'm working on- 10 more squares to go and it's done!

Creepy Valley- My Zine!

Yes! I got zined and it's so beautiful! It's all creepy, dark and twisted and when I received it, it got me in the feelings. Ever since I got involved with helping to make zines for Torrie and Julia, I really wanted one as they're so amazing. The theme used for me was all things creepy....naturally! So obviously to take pictures of this creepily fantastic zine, I went to the graveyard because I'm weird like that.                                                                                         

My zine was made by the usual Zine masters, Katie, Vanessa and Julia, they also got Essie on board. All their artwork together is so great and compliments each other perfectly- Can you tell that I completely love it and I quote my text to Julia "I love it so much, I want to marry it."

 

I almost forgot about this little surprise!

I think you'll agree this zine is creeptastic and I just love all the quotes that were used.

Reasons to be happy...

EEek tailing behind a little bit! 

Here it is, my answer to the happy prompts this week. I am finding this season tough than I thought it would be! I must just be drawn more naturally to the darkness!

This was meant to say, 'Inside my head' but I wrote brain for some reason! Same/diff!

Until Wednesday when there is a very special post, that I can't wait to share!

Leave a little sparkle wherever you go

It's finally here the new Get Messy has opened! This season it's Happy! which as I think you will agree is quite a step away from my creepy pages. As it's worked well for my to have a theme within a theme- for happy I'm opting to for Acid Trip.....I'm looking at neon and vivid colours and surreal themes. So although the colour scheme is going to be different from my altered book the surreal feel will remain.
Be prepared for lots of glitter and more crazy filters....you know I love a filter.
This is my new journal, the book is lined which did make me wonder whether I should use it, but then decided the last couple of months I have been working in actual book, what's a couple of lines going to do. I also covered it in stickers because well....they make me happy.

I just got some AMAZING neon chalk pens, which I'm having some fun with. Because you know I needed some marker pens I didn't quite have enough!!
