And then I realised that adventures are the best ways to learn

Oops sorry missed my Thursday deadline, in fairness I did post on instagram what I created. So if your a member of Get Messy you may have seen that I did a marbling tutorial! I'm going to post it here later this week as it's so much fun and looks so pretty!

So here's my take on the prompts, as you will see I have opted for of a hand drawn/writing approach this week.

My perfect day.....

My bucket list- as you can see lots and lots to still to tick off.

Below, I had a go at Caylee's abstract painting on some sheet music, I left it over night as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it and hey presto, free download from Papernerd which allowed me to put together some words that meant something to me.

Lastly, if you follow some of my art you will know that I love doilies. For the below effect I painting over the doilies to get this awesome effect.

Say yes to new adventures....

And here we are again for another adventurous Get Messy Thursday, they seem to whiz on around right?

First off- what's the most exotic things I've ever done. This was easy, this definitely the time I spent in Hong Kong having lots of Asian adventures and also interning for a handbag making company....Chinese factories are eye opening!!!

Next is my answer to the wanderlust prompt, I don't really poetry so I found a nice quote to use. I really didn't know what to do with this page and found myself and my beloved sharpies swirling!

My last piece of work this week was something off prompt, last week I went to see a band I have loved since I was 16- Incubus. So I decided to dedicate a page to them using one of their lyrics.

Well until next time folks!

Lots of love

Get Messy Thursday

Hola all, so here we are once again for Get Messy Thursdays!!! The prompts this week I have actually completed all of the challenges and tried to keep to what was instructed rather than going off on a tangent and doing what I like.

Challenge 1- the most adventurous thing I have ever done, this was a tie between living in Hong Kong for 8 months and moving to London. I decided on London as in Hong Kong I had family and there was no rush to get a job, whereas London I completely started again.

Challenge 2- Something you would never do, online dating...there's not much to say on this- it's just not my thing!

Challenge 3- My page with bits and pieces from a magazine and nice quote about fashion, "Fashion can be bought, style one must possess.'

Challenge 4- Bits and pieces from the bottom of my scrap bin, as you can see it's not finished and it's purely lots of junk glued to a page. I'm going to leave it like this and see what happens when inspiration hits!

And that's it from me this week folks until next week for some more art journaling. Also I know I spoke abit about a fashion through the ages project I was doing, I still need to post what I have done so far- I have just run out of the paper I use for it, will be getting more soon.

Lots of love,

Thursday adventures!

Hi all,

Short and sweet as I am back home in my little island, but as I did promise to post every Thursday here it is! So through Get Messy our prompt this week has been the get messy game which I will be posting my finished result tomorrow.

So I thought what to post tonight? There was a conversation through Facebook about I finished and coming back to your art so I thought I would post some pictures of pages I have started and don't seem to have finished yet.

Sorry if the formatting is a bit off, I'm posting from my iPad and I usually use my laptop.

Lots of love

Lets have an Adventure...

It's time for a new season! waving goodbye to brave and stepping in to Adventure, I have committed to posting my work every Thursday after Monday's prompts- so expect to see lots more posts!

Here is what I have been working on for the beginning of Adventure

The picture below doesn't quite do the page justice and I don't mean that in a big headed way, it's just that the layer on the top is this lovely mermaid paper and changes colour which ever way you look at it, which doesn't quite come across on paper!

Below I decided to do Coney Island in New York as somewhere I'd like to adventure- below is a little bit different to what I usually do...trying to put my drawing skills to use. As before you can't actually see but this page is coated in PVA glue, just so it has a cool shine on it.

There is also little comments dotted around, to try and capture what your 5 senses would be feeling when visiting Coney Island.

Random and not anything to do with adventure- but this my make your mark June answer to favourite popsicle.

See you next week.

We are the brave

Hey, time to share my next batch of art journaling, as I spoke about before I have found this season pretty tricky. I'm not sure whether it's been the content or the fact I have just been really busy lately and not really had the time to think the subject through.

So the below is the result of me using inks and a piece of lace net curtain to get the below effect and obviously what a piece of art journaling without a inspirational quote!

Below I wasn't sure where I was going with this page and just ended up here!

On another prompt I did list my fears, but I got to thinking in this day and age with social media and always being connected and able to find out anything at the touch of a button. I think most people of my generation's biggest fear is being disconnected and out of the loop. I always admire those people who can happily turn off their phone, not check their iPad, laptop or any use any form of technology.

Lastly, one of the thing I have been doing is visiting Brighton for the amazing festival that is the Great Escape. This festival is based all over Brighton's pubs and clubs and they are hosts to various new bands from all over the world. I love this mini festival because you get the opportunity to discover some gems that fast become your favourite thing to listen to.

Brave

Below are some pics of the latest prompts I have been working on.

A picture of me then and now...as you can see I haven't changed much...still a bit weird!

Did some marbled paper and decided to stick some brave quotes on it!

In line with this weeks prompts and also in line with it being voting season... Here's who I think is brave.
