In the land of Gods and Monsters, I was an angel living in the garden of evil

Hiya all, sorry I'm late in posting- you following me on instagram or just casually check I wasn't late posting there and you may have already seen what I am going to post.  The prompt this week were amazing and so positive, as this was the case and me being a dark little monster I did my own thing as they completely wouldn't have fit in with my theme! There are some parts of it which I will use, so I'm sure you will see them next week.

So this week I looked at creepy films and TV shows and used some of their quotes.

Until next week when it's halloween!!!! prepare to be scared!

Lots of love,

Lauren

Black as Midnight, Black as Pitch, Blacker than the foulest Witch

STILL LOVING THIS SEASON!!!! I definitely must be a dark person as I'm loving doing all this creepy stuff and have been flying through the pages once again!

Below I have a mix of all things scary, this week was geared more towards childhood stories and memories- at first I thought where am I going to start I didn't have a dark childhood at all!

So a childhood story I used was one my Dad made up to tell me and my brother. Where we lived when we were younger was pretty an estate but there was one house that was guarded by gates and you never saw anyone coming in or out. So my dad made up this character called Gudjee Borland who lived there, I don't think it had it's intended results as me and my brother would add to it with things like he would sleep on a bed of nails and eat his boogies (I know! but we were like 6 and 7!).

I also looked at some nursery rhymes that have the reputation of being dark and also for childhood stories I was told decided to take the Disney twist and use the original Grimm versions, which as you may know are VERY dark. I only have one page for snow white- I'm working on some others but wanted to meet the Get Messy Thursday deadline!

I will be sad with this season ends.

Lots of love,
Lauren

My whole life is a dark room. One. Big. Dark. Room

I love love love this season, I have been so productive and ideas keep pouring out of me for the creepy/dead theme. It probably says more about me than it does anything else.
Not much chit chat this week I have lots to show.

Tried lots of different things this week, as you can see I kept myself busy. After Karen's amazing tutorial last week on handwriting, I have tried to perfect my own.

Can you recognise any of the quotes/ song lyrics I've used?

Stay spooky,
Lauren

Shake thyself from the dust and arise

Let the Season of the Dead begin- Keeping with the creepy theme my meet the author page is told in the style of The Legend of Lauren of the Valley.
I have wrote a bit about myself in the style of a old legend/ghost story which little bits of information in there included about me.

Below is a creepy quote from the Shakespeare play 'Richard III', when picking a quote I wasn't sure which one to go with but last night I saw 'Richard III' at the Rose Theatre (everyone go see this play) and took away this quote from watching it. The full quote is,

"And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover, to entertain these fair well-spoken days, I am determined
to prove a villain and have the idle pleasures of these days."

My dedication is simple and to the point, as I theming this Get Messy season around all things creepy and dead- it had to be dedicated to all the lost souls.

Lastly, the page below is a do over from last week. One the inside of my cover last week it said LaurenPearl in silver pen, which I wasn't really happy with. I found this cool sticker and thought it tied in nicely to my theme and decided to put the silver pen to use and outline the pattern in the book.

I am already completely in love with this season and am bursting with creepy ideas!

Until next time.
